The Power of His Word Sharpens our Swords …Today is the DAY!

And He Who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Then He said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true”            ~~ Revelation 21:5 (ESV).

Do you believe and trust in His Word?  What a promise our Lord gives us to know that we are HIS!  All we need to do is accept Him and believe in Him for our salvation.

In order to live this out, however, we must take action to then sharpen our swords, stay in His Word, pray daily, and trust in the promises of the Bible.  These promises are for each of us for this new season of life. I know this to be true for myself, for I have been desperate for such a word as this to renew and refresh my being.

“To the thirsty I will give from the spring of water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be My son” ~~ Revelation 21: 6-7 (ESV).

Are you thirsting for more of Him like I am?  Applying this word will bring about positive change in your life. Are you willing to take the time and focus upon what is God calling you to in this new season?

Let’s Set a New Course for the New Year …

What are your goals as the new year begins? Are you willing to write them down and ask God, “What is your opinion of me doing this or that? What is your will for me for this new year?” Maybe it is time to lay down some of your fleshly desires that have held you captive. Maybe you have been banging on a door that will not open. Or maybe you have become complacent in your walk with Christ.

Jesus offers you springs of living water that promise to quench your spiritual thirst – a thirst that only HE can quench!

Consider This …

Can you remember the last time you’ve been to a lovely beach? You’ve likely experienced the wonderful sensation of sand between your toes, and possibly even the uncomfortable sensation of sunburn. Picture your family gathering all their gear, heading to the beach, and picking out the perfect spot to enjoy your day. You position your towel, umbrella, and cooler just so, then you head to the water. After playing around in the waist-deep surf for a while, you look up. “Wait a minute,” you wonder, “where is all my stuff?” At first, you panic and your thoughts race.  But then you realize that you have simply drifted away from your original spot.

Does This Sound Familiar?

So, what do you do when this happens? You immediately get out of the water and walk along the beach, returning back to the exact spot from which you started.

Are you willing to return back to the basics with Jesus…to get anchored back in His Word and have regular communion with Him? Are you willing to silence all distractions that pull and tug at your heart, and cause you to drift ever so slowly away from HIS purpose and call on your life?

“When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child. I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways”

~~ 1 Corinthians 13:11 (ESV).

We All Make Our Choices ...

Ask yourself, how much better could my life be if I were to completely immerse myself in HIS Word and His ways, pray like I have never prayed before, and prepare daily by sharpening my sword? Would I be all the better for it?

Time is ticking, and seasons are changing.  Will you be intentional in this new year – both internally and externally? God has a wonderful plan for our lives! It’s high time we experienced all He has for us.

In John 11: 9-10: “Jesus answered, ‘Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.’”

John Piper writes, “One of the great uses of Facebook and Twitter will be to prove at the Last Day that prayerlessness was not from a lack of time.”

Pray with Me:

Father, I pray that we will make the choice today to put away all childish things and accept responsibility for our actions. Lord, help us to be intentional in this season to pray, meditate on Your Word, and worship Your HOLY NAME. Lord, we need You to give us vison, to renew and refresh our spirits so that we can do as it says in Isaiah 40:31: “But they who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Lord, let us run daily with great conviction of our purpose and calling in this new season. Amen.

Meditate Upon These Scriptures …

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”  ~~ Jeremiah 29:11.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” ~~ 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV).

“…but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life" ~~ John 4:4.

"He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water’” ~~ John 7:38.
